About Us

Varadaraja Institute of paramedical Sciences was founded in the year 2016-17. Varadaraja Institute of allied health and paramedical Sciences is a Higher Learning Institute where the next generation health care and health policy leaders receive high quality education and training.
Institution is full fledged with best infrastructure and modern amenities with a high tech lab for students to Excel best in their education through our highly qualified faculty. Practical training with clinical facilities provided at the best hospitals and it is guided by our founder director doctor Durgadas Asranna . Dr Durga Das Asranna is also the founder of Kasturba Multi Speciality Hospital Tumkur, which facilitates training and job competence to the students. In recent years that has been a growing need for qualified and well trained paramedical personnel who form an essential constituent of the medical profession. In order to meet the increasing demand for qualified and trained paramedical personal our college offers undergraduate degree courses in paramedical and allied Health Sciences. Our campus is spread over 3 acres of land , has three story buildings with state of the art classrooms, new age laboratories, administrative and faculty divisions and an Auditorium, hostel facilities and recreational facilities. We are very much determined to see that every student who joins our institutions will be able to realize their dreams and satisfy the expectations of their parents

Principal's Message

At the outset, I congratulate both the parents and their wards for their interest in Varadaraja Institute of Pharmaceutical Education & Research, Tumkur (VIPER) for professional education. I feel proud to announce that through professionally competent and experienced teachers we have persistently got very good results in the university examinations. Though the world has technologically advanced, majority of the employers expect satisfactory character, moral and ethical values in the candidates apart from professional competencies. Hence we in VIPER often instill these qualities into our students at an appropriate time to carve them to meet the employer’s expectations and succeed in their career. This is our uniqueness and we believe this as mantra of success.
Having a mere qualification and holding a degree is an obsolete thing in today’s highly competitive era. Students need to possess contemporary employable skills. We in VIPER schedule to organize written, spoken and presentation competitions for students to groom them and develop in holistic way as expected by the National Education Regulations 2020. We are well aware of the void between the Pharmacy academics and the corporate world by virtue of our wide professional network. To eliminate this, our institute has a mission to organize several relevant professional training programmes through concerned experts to impart value addition to our students at appropriate stages of their curriculum so that they become readily absorbable by the employers.

Diploma in Medical Lab Technology (DMLT)

Diploma in Medical Lab Technology is the diploma course in medical field that trains the students on the various aspects like diagnosis, treatment and prevention of the diseases. The students are equipped with basic knowledge and required skills to carry out the procedures involved in diagnosing the diseases in the patients using the medical equipment. The course also gives basic knowledge of diagnosing the ailment and also generating the reports that help the doctors to provide proper treatment for the patients. This medical course involves advanced professional learning in: Prevention, Diagnosis and Treatment of diseases in patients through clinical laboratory tests.

Eligibility:

Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) is a 3-year diploma course pursued after the successful completion of the SSLC + 6 months Internship. For lateral Entry: PUC Pass- 2 years + 6 months Internship

Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Technology(BSc MLT)

Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) is a branch of science that deals with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases using clinical laboratory tests. This involves analysis of the body fluids, including tissues and blood. Medical Laboratory Technologists perform most of their tasks such as the preparation of slides, human tissues or other specimens, using laboratory equipment. They also carry out tasks such as blood tests and blood typing. Candidates who wish to make a career in this field can choose to do either a degree course or a diploma course after Class 12.

Today 70% of medical diagnosis is carried out in laboratories by the MLT course qualified technologists/ technicians.

While studying this course, candidates are taught about diseases and the use of medical laboratory equipment in performing clinical tests. An MLT is a crucial part of the healthcare system, they play a crucial role in the diagnosis of a disease by collecting the information required to provide suitable medical facilities to the patient. Without an MLT, modern medicine would be incapable of providing the right treatment.

Eligibility:

PUC (PCMB) pass= 3-years course + 1 year Internship, +Project.
For lateral Entry: DMLT Pass- 2 years +1 year Internship project

The motive of the placement cell of varadaraja college of nursing is to not only develop and train the students to work in the industry but also to act as facilitators to coordinate the recruitment processes and arrange campus visits for various prospective employers for the colleges’ students. Institute of Nursing has an active placement cell which is set up to help students in their career choices.
We have tie-ups with various hospitals in and beyond Bangalore who conduct campus interviews for the students. There is 90-100% placement for all our Nursing students. Our students are working efficiently all over the country and abroad. They work mainly as bed side Nurses, Nurse educators, Nurse researchers & Nursing administrators in hospitals and colleges. On completion of the course they work as staff nurses, Nurse Educators, Nurse Researchers, nurse administrators, public health nurse, Industrial Nurse and school health nurse.
